Take a look at these amazing sets of images which juxtapose famous rappers with classic or ancient artworks. The similarities in the poses, the posturing, the jewellery are uncanny, they really are not as dissimilar as you may have first thought. It would appear those in power during the pre-16th century had very similar tastes to the guys running things from the throne of rap these days. The associations between the rappers and the primitive African artefacts make me feel a little uneasy but maybe I’m just being hyper sensitive. Thoughts?
