There’s some pretty hilarious material to be drawn from online craft-selling phenomenon Etsy, but this is certainly up there. An entire tumblr has been dedicated to publishing images a host of awkward-looking men displaying their girlfriends’ craft wares. Slightly emasculating and kind of just weird, the blog is “dedicated to the wretched creatures abused for economic gains by their Etsy girlfriends.”

In true handmade style most of the offerings are chunky yarn-based accessories, like some sort of craft vomit, or else of the hand-printed or “vintage” variety. There’s a guy who appears to have had his upper extremities decorated with pink crochet, and one who complete with bindi displays some girl’s attempt at rainbow tie-dye. A standout is a Chuck Norris look-alike who is donning some Navajo-themed jewellery and not much else. It’s that kind of awkward that’s like watching a dog on its hind legs: the discomfort is palpable. Except for this guy, who owns that pink zip hoody with a coy smile.

If nothing else, it displays a new level of comfort in relationships, one that can only be reached through agreeing to wear abominable craft projects for all the net to see.
