CARBON Festival 2012 Recap: Jasper Wong at No Vacancy

The Hawai'ian artist presents a delightfully wicked body of work in his first Australian solo exhibition at No Vacancy.

Words

Jasper Wong’s whirlwind trip to Australia included an appearance in the CARBON forums, a live painting session and a solo exhibition at No Vacancy Gallery.

Jasper Wong is a funny guy. Sometimes he wears a hot pink, head-to-toe lycra bodysuit. He draws men dressed as women or babies. He has a DeLorean tattoo. He’s obsessed with lasers, sailor tatts, Blacula and neon colours. And if you didn’t get to his show, A Corny Concerto, over the CARBON weekend, never fear! It runs until 05 May so make sure you get on down there and get a peep into the world of a hilarious creative genius.
