Drawing with a different medium

Check out Carne Griffiths' alcohol stained drawings

Posted By Joseph Ho |

Mostly known for his gold wire embroidery, Carne Griffiths’ latest body of work intricately blends the usual form of calligraphy with the unusual medium of alcohols such as brandy, vodka and whisky. This technique has created some truly eye-catching and fascinating colours in his pieces, and demonstrates the ability that art really can be made out of anything. Ernest Hemingway once said, “write drunk, edit sober” – I’m sure he would’ve loved the idea behind these pieces.
