Hitnes from Rome is obsessed with animals, like – travel the world collecting dead animals to preserve – obsessed. I first met Hitnes in 2001 on my first trip to Europe, but I told that story on Artillery last week so I won’t get into it again.

Hitnes was a street artist before the label “street art” tarnished that thing where people paint pictures on the street. We would run around Rome in the wee hours of the night, him painting one-colour outlines of weird animals and me rioting my name.

This super lovely gentleman recently made the pilgrimage to Mexico for a show at FIFTY24MX Gallery. Here are a selection of photographs from the journey, both inside and outside the gallery. I hope he comes back to Australia soon.
