It’s pretty easy to get lost in a big city, especially a city as big as New York. Somehow, photographer Jeffrey Milstein manages to make the city look tiny and serenely beautiful in this series of aerial photos. Taking to the skies and shooting the city from a helicopter, Milstein focuses on some of the major buildings and parks of the city, capturing just how deliberate the urban design is on some of these places–the Stuyvesant Town projects are particularly striking from way up there. Take a look at the full series in our gallery above and you might think about seeing NYC from a different angle during your next trip.

If you already happen to be in the Big Apple, head to Benrubi Gallery, where you can see these images, and more from Milstein, until August 22.
