Amsterdam-based firm Merkx+Girod Architecten, have converted a a 13th century Dominican church into a new contemporary bookstore. Situated in Maastricht, the building’s original constraints, featuring high ceilings, wide aisles and classical church columns have provided a perfect foundation for the architect firm’s large aspirations and the results have ended up providing a ‘perfect fusion’.
