Fresh Off The Boat is a brand new sitcom coming to ABC, based on the memoir by celebrity chef Eddie Huang. The show focuses on hip-hop loving Eddie and his Taiwanese family who moves from Washington DC to Orlando so his father can pursue his love for America and open an all-American steakhouse. The family struggles with cultural identity, fitting in, making new friends and bad hair days, all while following an Everybody Hates Chris style of comedy.

It’s also exciting news for the Asian community, as Fresh Off The Boat is one of the few TV series that is based around an Asian-American family.
