Wes Lang – Paradise Club Book

A inner look into the Brooklyn artist’s life and inspirations

Posted By Alex Weiland |

New York artist Wes Lang has released a book titled The Paradise Club. In the style of a scrapbook, the book “takes on the golden era of David Crosby, psychedelic drugs and Hell’s Angels”. Take a little bit of lowbrow R. Crumb style fodder, mix it with the hopes and contradictions of the 60s and 70s, add a dash of throwback porn and Americana iconography and you’ll probably be close to the heady mix of imagery that lies within its pages.

According to the artist himself: “I like to take American history and then completely ignore it. I come at it visually, taking images and telling my own story. It comes out of criticism and great love”. You can pre-order it via Amazon. You can purchase our New York issue which features an interview with Wes Lang here.
