This Thursday at 10am, Melbourne store Sure will be releasing the latest collaboration of sneakers from Nike.  Nike have joined forces with two of the hottest leaders in the music industry – (the late) DJ AM and DJ Premier – on two new pairs of Dunks for the East/West Rivalry Pack.

Brooklyn born and raised Christopher Edward Martin aka DJ Premier is known as one of the better producers in hip-hop history. DJ Premier made a name for himself by having trademark scratch choruses and sampling everything from Asian Funk to jazz to avant garde experimental music. Now the man who made up one half of Gang Starr has collaborated with Nike to produce his own model of the ‘Nike AF1’ sporting a palette of dark brown and deep olive-green tones. 
 
Representing the West: DJ AM

DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein had a crazy sneaker collection, boasting more than 800 pairs – that’s more pairs of shoes/heels/flats/sneakers than I’ve owned in my lifetime!

Before his tragic death in August (2009), the celebrity DJ announced, via his Twitter profile (@dj_am), that he was working on a collaboration with Nike for his own version of the Dunk Hightops.
 
“This is one of the most amazing moments,” AM tweeted earlier this year. “I just HELD the sample of MY OWN NIKE DUNK. I never dreamed this would happen. Wow, THANK YOU GOD.”
 
The DJ AM and Nike collaboration has produced this black and red ‘Nike Dunk Hi’, but it’s unfortunate that the late DJ isn’t around to see the product that bears his name make it to production.
