You may have seen posters for Chiko rolls popping up around the place. Chiko rolls, to the uninitiated or peeps overseas, are basically this deep-fried dim-sim/vege roll fast food that you used to pick up at footy games or petrol stations on long trips with your parents. A hit with truckers, Australia's favourite phallic shaped treat was known for it's strangely satisfying flavour and overtly sexy advertising. Back in the golden era of '80s Australian advertising, the snack's image was typified by a busty-ass blond, straddling a Harley in leather and grasping that snack in a manner I have never seen a woman handle a deep fried good before. 

Well times have changed! The Chiko roll is back! And the Chiko girl is no longer a wanton harlot hanging by the truck stop waiting for her next bikie bang gang; she's cute, on a bicycle and none other than our issue 12 cover girl, Annette Melton! We were like, so ahead of the times when we cast the gorgeous Sydney-sider for our cover and Fly Gurl spread and we're so stoked to see Annette beat out girls all around the country last year to become THE Chiko girl.

Sadly Annette's reign as Chiko queen is coming to an end, and she must pass that delicious, crunchy baton to another pretty young thing, but to us she'll always be the girl that changed the face of the Chiko.
