A group of Melbourne film makers have taken on an epic tale by telling the story of Nick Tsiligiris and Olympic Doughnuts. Since 1979 he has been serving hot jam doughnuts from his van at Footscray station, but the business was significantly affected by the renovation of the railway station.

“Our film will be an ode to Footscray, one of the most culturally and economically diverse suburbs in Australia, as well as a man who has captured the hearts and minds of people with his doughnuts and zest for life,” the film makers say in their Pozible campaign.

The group is currently running a campaign to raise $8,000 which will allow them to finish the film and take it to film festivals across the world.

Olympic Nick: A Donutumentary has currently reached just over half of its goal, if you would like to contribute, check out the Pozible campaign.
