Can’t sleep, clown will eat you? Fear no more. In news that will surely please about 99% of the population because, let’s be honest, who even likes clowns, America is currently experiencing “a national shortage” in the number of professional clowns.

A totally important report by New York Daily News has found that the biggest clown organisations (yes – this is real life) are all experiencing depleting membership numbers.

“Clowning isn’t cool anymore,” said the president of Clowns of America International, seemingly under the illusion it was once cool in the first place. Meanwhile, president of New York Clown Alley has found that “American kids these days are thinking about different careers altogether”, which can only be a good thing.

This news has made me laugh more than a clown ever has in my life.

Yeah, good fucking riddance.
