Last week Danny Brown caused some speculation when he took to Twitter to vent his disappointment on being dropped from A$AP MOB’s ‘Hella Hoes’ remix.

But any posturing is now #Old news after Danny cleared the air with Complex’s Jynx when he said this:

“They’re my brothers, we came in this on dime bags together yo know what I’m saying? People don’t know but A$AP Rocky, his first performance ever was opening up for me at the Triple X release party. But at the end of the day the whole thing, was a label thing. It had nothing to do with us”.

He goes on to talk about his mentorship of young rapper, Zeloopers, whom Brown has helped on the come-up with his latest full-length Help. From Brown’s own mentoring, to those who mentor him, the Detroit rapper says that his mentor is none other than Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammed, who G-checks him whenever he sees in the press that Danny has been in trouble:

“When I see that number, that name pop up, it’s like my dad calling me. You get that feeling like, naw I’ve done something wrong”.
