So you’ve dabbled in the in the mind-melting effects of LSD, shrooms (or if you’re lucky enough, maybe some Maui Wowie). But, if you’ve had enough of the tried and true, maybe electric probes could be for you.

A team from the JW Goethe-University in Frankfurt, Germany (of course they’re Germans) have discovered that attaching your dome to (essentially) jumper cables turns you into the Doctor Manhattan of your own subconscious’ RPG, FPS, or whatever kind of game you goddamn please.

The dream team found that applying 40Hz to participants’ noggins correlated to 27 out of 27 of them experiencing a lucid dream – giving them the insight that they were dreaming and thus the ability to run amok. The paper suggested that the technology could be used to treat night terrors and aid patients with psychiatric diseases. But likely the break-through will be jacked into something like this for people who just don’t get enough out of playing Second Life or who want a one on one with Mila Kunis.
