Yo Sydney, got plans for
Sat 18th August, around 6pm? Well if not, we might just be able to sort you out. Thanks to the Possible Worlds Film Festival in Sydney, we’ve got five double passes to give away to the premiere Australia screening of the doco, United States of Africa: Beyond Hip Hop.

The film follows the massive Senegalese rapper Didier Awadi as he’s recording his album Presidents D’Afrique with M-1 from Dead Prez and African rappers like Zulu Boy and Smockey. It’s a fascinating insight into the African hip-hop scene which we see very little of in Oz. The film also speaks on hip-hop’s role as a catalyst of social change in modern Africa.

The doco won the Critics’ Choice Award at the Montreal Documentary Film Festival and now you have the chance to watch it for free thanks to Possible Worlds.
