Ray Harryhausen was a Hollywood special-effects legend who found ways to incorporate cinematic life into practically anything. He died on Tuesday in London, age 92. During his career he often worked alone or with a small crew, but was responsible for some of the film worlds most memorable sequences that changed the use of stop-motion and special effects forever. He was generally credited as responsible for “technical effects” or “special visual effects” – terms which didn’t give justice to his body of work. He earnt an Academy award in 1992 for his innovation and invention of the many cinematic creations that will go down in history.
