Published by Rizzoli, M.I.A examines the artist’s roots, her art, and her artistic persona. Although best known for her music, M.I.A’s foray into fine art is vibrant and certainly noteworthy. Often informed by her challenging childhood, having escaped the civil war and Tamil rebellion in Sri Lanka, her artwork is documented in this book through original drawings, collages, photographs, and digital artwork. Intermittent textual commentary details the political and artistic evolution that led her to pursue music as a more public medium.
