Magpies are not the most beloved bird, in fact a lot of people are fucking terrified of the creatures and due to an increase of dangerous incidents, a small town near Canberra has begun culling the evil animals.

Gungahlin which is in Canberra’s north, has has several incidents in which the birds aggressively tried to take food from people, ACT Parks and Conservation director Daniel Iglesias said that “We have one story… where a magpie stood on a child’s head, leant over the child’s head, put its beak in its mouth to get food out of its mouth.”

“We’ve had other incidents where there have been other near-misses with eyes.”

Mr Iglesias said that yesterday morning seven magpies were trapped by rangers and then euthanised, Iglesias claimed that moving the birds to a remote location was not an option, as magpies were extremely territorial, and that something had to be done before someone was seriously hurt.

He said that over a long period of time the birds had come accustomed to being fed, and had come to expect food from people in the area. “There is a solution, and that solution is don’t feed them in public places.”
