Australian tailor M.J. Bale has teamed up with Heritage Bank and Visa to create the first wearable technology of its kind – a suit with a contactless payment chip and antenna sewn into the sleeve. This enables guys to pay ‘invisibly’ using their sleeve anywhere Visa PayWave is accepted.

The contactless chip features technology from Visa PayWave, and is linked to a prepaid online account from Heritage Bank, allowing users to check the balance and top up their suit from their phone or computer.

The ‘Power Suit’ is based around the idea that “powerful men don’t need to carry a wallet”, the suit is elegantly designed, using 100% Superfine Australian Merino Wool, with Japanese tailor Kenichi Kaneko overseeing production.

Matt Jenson, CEO of M.J. Bale, comments on the power suit: “The world’s most powerful men don’t carry a wallet. This suit allows you to join their ranks. M.J. Bale has always been a brand for stylish gentlemen, the prototype means the wearer doesn’t need to ruin the cut of their trousers or jacket with a bulky wallet. It allows individuals to be ahead of the technology game and look top notch.”
