There has been a major development in the long-running saga that is Apple’s patent infringement case against Samsung.  The nine-person jury has taken only three days to reach a verdict in favour of Apple, which could see them awarded almost $1.05 billion in damages from the South Korean electronics giant.

The jurors found Samsung to have infringed several of Apple’s patents to produce a number of the brand’s mobile phones and tablets in a case that has extended to more than 50 different countries. While this is major kick in the nuts for Samsung, they are sure to appeal the decision, saying in a statement, “This should not be seen as a win for Apple, but a loss for the American consumer.” The war continues…
