LeBron James‘ latest social media endeavor has landed him in a spot of sponsorship related bother, with the Miami Heat/Samsung spokesman tweeting:

My phone just erased everything it had in it and rebooted. One of the sickest feelings I’ve ever had in my life!!!”

I feel ya, LeBron. I too, have vented my own vitriol regarding the temperamental nature of smartphone technology. The last thing you want is a year’s worth of selfies and sexy Instagram screenshots erased at the drop of a hat.

I, however, am not getting paid millions to endorse Samsung.

Remembering that he had some sort of relationship with Samsung, James deleted his tweet, probably after a heated phone call from his publicist.

James is not alone, however, with Samsung’s promotional efforts to pose celebrities next to its products frequently encountering embarrassing turns, such as when Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres tweeted before, during and after the event from her iPhone, despite engaging in the theatrical use of a Samsung product on stage.

Also, Motorola signed an exclusive agreement with David Beckham to be its global brand ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games, but Beckham was, embarrassingly for Motorola, spotted using his iPhone 5s at the Super Bowl.

Well, there you have it – Apple wins.
