The roots of skateboarding have always been firmly DIY, but in an era of energy drink sponsorships and the X-Games it’s easy to lose sight of the kids out there who spend hours skating a curb out the front of their house. Phillip Evans’ “Bowl Jazz” takes that spirit back to its roots, documenting a group of mates who convert an abandoned rooftop into a nice little bowl. Coupled with the improv jazz of Max Zaska, it’s an inspiring few minutes.
