Skate: Ordos

Take a trip to China's forgotten cities

Posted By Sean Irving |

China’s massive labour force and staggering expansion means that urban structures appear in across the country almost overnight. But with a largely itinerant population and high costs of living, filling these new cities with people often proves quite difficult.

Skaters Jay Meador, Gustav Nymans, Tommy Zhao, Alexander Hwang, James Capps, Elliott Zelinskas, and Brian Dolle took a trip to Ordos in Inner-Mongolia, a ghost city built to accommodate millions that only inhabits a few thousand residents. The striking architecture proves to be a paradise for the skaters, who have virtually the whole city at their disposal.
