It’s a hard time to be a smoker in Australia–cigarette prices continuously increasing, smoking banned in almost more places than it isn’t and a whole raft of (seemingly ineffective) means to try and deter smoking. Well, if you live in NSW and love to have a smoke with your meal your life isn’t getting any easier.  Yesterday, changes to the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 now mean that smoking will be banned in the outdoor areas of hotels, clubs, restaurants and cafés. This ban also extends to areas within four meters of an eatery entrance. Could a repeat of the Melbourne prison riots of last week be on the table when a group of club-goers realise they can no longer go for there smoko? Guess we will have to wait and see.
