Just in time for Christmas, GiDi CREATIVE, Homeless Of Melbourne and Free Is Better. have teamed up for Australia’s first ever Street Store. The Street Store is a pop-up initiative that gives the community a chance to give clothes to the underprivileged.

The pop-up store creates an opportunity for those less fortunate to come to an accepting environment and have a dignified shopping experience. For the homeless begging can be degrading, but at this pop-up store they are able to choose what clothes they like or need from the donated items and collect them off the hangers.

The Street Store has already appeared in cities such as London and New York, and now Melbourne gets their opportunity on Saturday December 20. Interactive sharing events like these raise awareness and break down the stigma around people who are homeless.

The event will feature the pop-up store and barber grooming services. There will be guest DJs and the chance to purchase $5 food vouchers from Mr. Burger that you can donate directly to a person in need at the event.
