UK electro-pop-R&B duo AlunaGeorge, made up of vocalist Aluna Francis and production master George Reid, experienced a rapid rise to the limelight after their first track You Know You Like It went semi-viral on YouTube, clocking up more than two million views in a matter of months without the help of any label backing at the time. Since then, the pair have backed up their early online success with a string of addictive pop hits, a stand-out collaboration with Disclosure on White Noise and, finally, the release of their acclaimed debut album Body Music in July this year.

Speaking with Noisey as part of their Turning Points series, the bubbly Aluna and slightly shier George discuss their life-changing first live show which they describe as “a kind of weird karaoke show.” Oh them loveable Brits.

AlunaGeorge will be in the country at the end of September and throughout October as part of the inaugural Listen Out festival.
