Remember those things called floppy disks? Well back in ancient times, shortly after dinosaurs became extinct, they were used to save things on PCs. Images that Andy Warhol edited using the Amiga 1000 were trapped on them once USBs came in, and remained in Andy Warhol’s Museum Archive until now. Thanks to Carnegie Mellon University, they’ve retrieved 23 pictures from 41 floppy disks, revealing the never-before seen art that Warhol created over 25 years ago. They also filmed their process to make a five-part documentary, called Trapped: Andy Warhol’s Amiga Experiment, addressing the questions of an image’s lifecycle in this ever-evolving technological world.
