Watch San Diego Spectacularly Fuck Up their 4th July Fireworks
18 minutes of fireworks go off in 15 seconds6-Jul-2012
Each year on the 4th of July San Diego hold a big event called the Big Bay Boom, where they let off a fuck tonne of fireworks during a show that runs just under 20 minutes… or at least that’s how it’s supposed to go. Unfortunately, this year there was a mishap and the 18 minute firework show was condensed into 15 seconds. Woah. The result is something akin to a nuclear bomb, one giant burning spectacular, kinda scary light. This statement was released from event’s organisers:
“Approximately 5 minutes before the show was to start, a signal was sent to the barges that would set the timing for the rest of the show after the introduction. There were a number of preliminary test signals sent hours and minutes leading up to the show. All these signals tested properly according to Garden State Fireworks, the fireworks company that provides the show. The Garden State Fireworks team will be working throughout the night to determine what technical problem caused the entire show to be launched in about 15 seconds. We apologize for the brevity of the show and the technical difficulties. More information when available will be posted on this website.”
There’s something hilarious about a fail of such magnitude. Watch the vid above.
