Not sure if I’m scared or excited that the internet continues to dissuade me from ever needing to leave the house. This time it’s in the form of this hyperlapse creator, a project from Teehan+Lax labs that fuses source material from Google streetview into a sickeningly beautiful camera sweep. The locations of Point A and B are up to you. Whilst the app is moderately glitch prone and has some disappointing excluded areas (like, don’t even bother trying to hyperlapse the Pacific Ocean or North Korea) it’s still probably the fastest way to glimpse most of the corners of the globe. Bridges, tunnels and highways are all particularly enjoyable trips. All it takes is Google Chrome and decent internet. Try it here.
