Inspired by the 1988 film, Coming to America, which some may regard as the greatest comedic film of all time, Packer Shoes teams up with Starter to pay homage to the American classic with the re-release of New York Mets and Jets jackets made iconic by comedy legends Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. Murphy and Hall starred in the film as Prince Akeem and Semmi, a prince from Zamunda accompanied by his assistant on a search to find his “QUUEEEENNNN TO BEEE”. To recapture the vibe for 2016, they enlisted two native New Yorkers, Action Bronson (who already has a music video “Baby Blue” inspired by the film) and Meyhem Lauren, and immersed them in a not-so-New Yorker experience with visits to souvenir shops, Canal Street jewellery stores, and other tourist-approved destinations.

The jackets are set to release at Packer on Saturday January 23. In the meantime check out the full lookbook above
