On December 17, 2014, police arrested Ackquille Jean Pollard, better known as Bobby Shmurda and 14 others, including his brother Javese and his fellow GS9 musician Rowdy Rebel.  Police charged Shmurda with conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and gun possession (19); the total 101 indictments against himself and others included murder, attempted murder, assault, and drug dealing.  Shmurda was accused of being “the driving force” in a gang also known as GS9, the name of his label. He could be facing 25 years. James Essig, head of the NYPD unit that made the arrests, said Shmurda’s songs and videos were “almost like a real-life document of what they were doing on the street.”

Recently, the bail that had been set at US$2million was withdrawn and, last week, Bobby B*tch called HOT97 for an interview from Riker’s Island. The call (above) was cut off early but Shmurda did manage to speak for a few minutes and continued to deny charges.
“What they hearing about that night, that shit is not true, the cops been out for me for forever, but they never catch me with nothing.”
Shmurda made a second call yesterday, and managed to talk for a bit longer. He also had fellow rapper and friend Rowdy Rebel on the line with him (Rowdy had been unable to speak in the previous call as he’d been in solitary because of an undisclosed “altercation”).

The pair discus their disappointment with Epic Records, who they had assumed would bail them out and how Bobby has been trying to get 50 cent to manage him. He explains that he never did anything wrong apart from maybe shaking a few hands and taking photos with the wrong people. Listen to the full phone call above.
