Remember when Gambino got pissed off recently about a song being leaked and said that he was “trying to create one of the more imaginative rollouts”? Seems like he wasn’t kidding.

To accompany his latest album Because The Internet he’s dropped a 72-page screenplay that is intended to be read while playing the album. In fact it leaves you wondering if everything he’s been doing lately, interviews and emotional Instagram outpours included, have all been him playing the character in his script, in one big dedicated troll.

The story picks up after its prequel Clapping For The Wrong Reasons, and follows the story of “The Boy” played by Gambino. It explores relationships with family, friends, and technology in manner akin to a less idle/affluent Less Than Zero, with each song from Because The Internet corresponding to an act from the screenplay. Visuals and scenes acted out by Gambino and others are also peppered through the script.
