Weekly updates

The time has finally come. It’s Dre Day. And if you’ve set your reminders, you should be tuning in to the live stream of Compton, an album inspired by the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, right now. It’s early days yet, but diehards are already expressing their approval via Twitter.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio earlier, Dre said he was pretty relieved to finally have this project finished and confirmed that it won’t be just a plus for fans—he will be donating all of his artist royalties from this album to building a youth performance arts centre in Compton.

Compton will be streaming for the next couple of hours via Apple Music, so you’ve got time to tune in and develop your own opinions. We’ll reserve our judgement until we’ve been able to listen to it a few dozen times but here’s what Robbie predicted for the album earlier this week. Needless to say, there will be little else discussed today besides Dre. Not on board? Stay off social media today.

Compton will be available for official release tomorrow.
