Dyl Thomas and Edo Rafter aren’t rookies in the Australian music scene. Edo has been DJing and producing for years, perhaps best known as Flight Tonight, and Dyl was one of the founding members of Polo Club. (Remember them?). They just released a video for their track ‘Hazy’, which was shot by friend of ACCLAIM Louis Mitchell. Watch below:

EAVESDROPPING ON MILWAUKEE BANKS

Who are you?

Dyl Thomas from Milwaukee Banks.

Where are you from?

Melbourne, Australia.

What is unique about your local music scene?

If you dig deep enough you can find anything! Any style, and genre and all different walks of life come together to enjoy it.

Describe your sound in three words. Go!

‘Patty. Fucking. Mills.’ Or ‘In. The. Sky.’

What makes you unique as an artist?

Our approach to songwriting and not being scared to challenge the status quo.

Have you heard any new music lately? Got any recommendations?

My homies 4 Aces is dope. KIRA beats are always laying fresh shit. Full Spectrum, W1SP.

Tell us a little about this release.

It started off as a bit of fun as we both had various projects we were both working on. Edo emailed me a beat one day to check out. I liked it and wrote some lyrics and that started the process. We weren’t going for a particular sound with the EP – I guess it just showcases the type of stuff we were inspired by and what we were listening to at the time of writing it. Each song has a specific feel and flavour. I almost see each track as a short story. Milwaukee Banks is a great outlet for me to say shit I usually wouldn’t. It’s dark and hazy and I guess pretty unpredictable.

What inspired the artwork for the your Rose Water EP?

We have a friend who has developed some visuals for our live show. We said just something along those lines, fresh, dark and hazy.

What else are you working on at the moment?

Various remixes, the live show, and writing an album.

Do you have any shows coming up?

Wednesday August 13 at GOODGOD, Sydney.

Thursday August 14 at Lounge, Melbourne.
