Word on the street is that in addition to the already phenomenal Rapture lineup, Chance The Rapper and Action Bronson are also allegedly booked for the new festival. This was revealed through the expected internet chatter leading up to the official announcement and fuelled by the following promotional poster that went up in Brisbane over the weekend.

We contacted the festival promoters but could not get a solid confirmation on the validity of these rumours, unsurprisingly. As always, we’ll keep out ears to the street and will keep you updated.

Eminem might have been out of the game for a minute but dude still knows how to keep things relevant. Not only will he be touring his highly anticipated album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in our fair country early next year, but he’s enlisted two of hip hop’s hottest names to join him.

Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole will be sharing the stage with the Real Slim Shady as part of the debut of hip hop event Rapture. Curated by Em himself, the festival will also feature local rapper 360, and will hit stadiums in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in February 2014.

Billed as a ‘game-changing hip hop event’, Rapture is set to become an annual showcase of today and tomorrow’s biggest rap and urban stars. And with such a heavyweight freshman line-up, the bar has been set high for the future of the event.
