Tycho (Ghostly Intl), Baths (Anitcon) Prefuse 73 (Warp) and Synkro (Apollo) are set to take over The Metro Theatre on November 24th presented by the ever forward thinking Astral People and Strawberry Fields Festival. Combing hip-hop with music that has one foot planted firmly in the future, the most innovative US and UK artists headline this extraordinary sonic event.

Tycho – from San Francisco – burst into the electronic music scene with 2002’s The Science of Patterns EP whose haunting sounds set the tone of the Ghostly International label and inspired countless artists. Playing live with a full band and stunning visuals, prepare to have your mind blown by Tycho’s first ever Australia tour.

Prefuse 73 is caught somewhere between the vintage hip-hop of the 80s, soul music and the soundscapes of the future. Almost exclusively releasing his music on Warp Records, he has collaborated with the likes of Aesop Rock, Ghostface, Four Tet and TV on the Radio, as well as shaping some of the most creative and chameleon albums in experimental hip-hop.

The lush and delicate sounds of Baths have been capturing attention since his first album Cerulean. The pianist-turned-beatmaker creates melodic electronica from the innovative music scene of LA. This will be the first ever-Australian tour for the talented 21-year-old and it’s worth mentioning that the softly beautiful track below was composed on an iPad.

From Manchester, Synkro’s sound is an evolution of classic 2step and dubstep with an emotional edge that has been released through R&S offshoot Apollo, and has crafted remixes of The XX amongst others. Hailed as being one of the most original producers at the moment Synkro pushes dance floor music into an emotional experience.

Tickets go on sale from Tuesday 4th September through metrotheatre.com.au.
