The music community stood still at the news of DJ Rashad passing away last month. The internet mourned, posting up Teklife logos and SoundCloud and YouTube embeds of the footwork pioneer’s discography.

DJ Rashad came though Australia in June last year, thanks to The Operatives. The event was held at Howler and he shared the stage with Sepalcure, Jon Convex and Mark Pritchard. Truly iconic, this show remains one of the best live shows I have experienced.

A bunch of my musically inclined friends were also in attendance at this show, and now they are hosting an event that pays tribute to DJ Rashad. I couldn’t think of a more fitting lineup to pay Melbourne’s respects to his legacy. Come through to Lounge this Saturday May 24 and catch sets from the follwing:
