The Chop is the newest kid on Surry Hill’s cultural block, and one you should familiarise yourself with A$AP. Set to launch on March 8th, The Chop is a brand new monthly to bi-monthly night held at Play Bar dedicated to shining a spotlight on Sydney’s swarming beatmaker and producer scene, both of the up-and-coming and established variety. Each night will feature a curated mouth-watering menu of sounds ranging from slow-burning funk cuts to bombastic hip hop beats and everything between. Because their aim is to promote Sydney’s growing beat scene, each serving of The Chop is free.

Holding down the slaughterhouse on launch night will be Prolifik The Gifted and his gritty pulses of trap, Jae Moon’s vintage 90s trip-hop and Sydney’s go-to hip hop DJ Raine Surpreme.

The Chop, presented by Bedrocker Productions, Play Bar and Skretch Sat-Dee
