In the lead-up to the release of his sophomore album later this year, Frank Ocean has parted with long-time management team Christian and Kelly Clancy, whom he had been with since 2010. Earlier this year he surprised the couple, who also manage Tyler, the Creator, Solange and Mac Miller, by telling them he would be taking his career in a different direction. The singer hasn’t disclosed any details of a new manager yet.

His LA and Brooklyn based publicist, Life or Death PR (who also represent Odd Future), have also been let go. Ocean has replaced them with Hollywood agency ID PR, who also represent the likes of Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lawrence.

Whilst the official reason for the change-up is still unknown, last year former manager Chris Clancy offered some insight into Ocean’s decision making. “This is a guy who has the ability to change things, and for him to change things, he has to follow his intuition,” Chris Clancy told MTV News last year. “If he doesn’t follow his intuition, then it’s not real. The goal is to trust the guy who wrote the music to present his art, his way — Frank has incredible intuition. Just fucking incredible. He very clearly sees things; my job is to say, no matter how far out it may be, I’m going to trust that.”
