Rick Ross has certainly had an interesting 2013, highlighted mainly by the controversy surrounding some arguable lyric choices and the subsequent fallout. One area he continued to win, however, was in the trademark infringement lawsuit filed against him by former drug dealer Freeway Rick Ross.

In case you missed it (or forgot about it), Rozay has been in Freeway’s bad books for adopting his name and life story as his own to earn some much needed rap world cred. Multiple rulings and unsuccessful appeals later, Freeway has come out with a statement following his most recent loss, which can be viewed in full at allhiphop.com.

“There is a teachable moment about the state of our community when a man who has a respectable job as a correctional officer, has to recreate himself in my former image as a large-scale kingpin to gain what he feels is social acceptance as a successful man.”

He also took the opportunity to reveal that he will have an autobiography dropping in February, as well as a movie in the works. Read the full statement here.
