Today would have been Prince’s 58th birthday. Since the legend’s passing, fans across the globe have been doing all they can to honour the stars unmatchable career and legacy. Governor Mark Dayton of Minnesota and Prince’s birthplace has officially declared June 7 to be “Prince Day,” carrying the phrase ‘wear something purple.’ Prince always took pride in his suburban roots and chose to settle in Chanhassen, Minnesota away from the Hollywood lifestyle, so it seems fitting that his day is celebrated there. For us, pretty much every day is Prince Day, but we thought we’d still make a special effort to celebrate.

It all started back in 1976 when Prince created a demo tape along with producer Chris Moon in a Minneapolis studio. We decided to do the throwback of all throwbacks and go through some of his best looks from the year he became active to some of his best through the 80s and 90s. Sure, we might be getting over nostalgic here but those two decades were as Prince as anything.
