Julio Bashmore has remixed Love Is Gonna Lift You Up, one of the best tracks off  Bobby Womack’s 2012 album, The Bravest Man In The Universe. After last year’s phenomenally huge Battle For Middle You, which showed up in many Best-Of-The-Year lists, Bashmore has turned in this jacking, sinister re-imagining which manages to make the absolute most of Womack’s compellingly knackered voice, crafting the track into an 8 1/2 minute peak-time burner. On the flip, Exemen gives us a fast-paced, bassy UK Funky interpretation with some great piano arrangement and a more full use of the vocal. For my money the Bashmore remix is the highlight, but both tracks are serious fire. Grab it from Boomkat.
