Different Sleep is Rafa Alvarez, a San Diego native currently residing in Chicago. The producer stays classy with ambient originals – his sound can be defined as an amalgamation of all those wave genres with a hint of juke thrown into the mix. Different Sleep has been around for a minute, releasing his ‘Infinite’ EP back in 2012, and more recently signing to the LA-based ‘it’ label Friends of Friends to release his official debut EP ‘Conflict’. You can definitely hear the sonic maturation between both releases, it kinda sounds like this: *2 Chainz voice* I’m different, yeah I’m Different Sleep.
