It’s no secret that Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks haven’t seen eye-to-eye about pretty much anything during the course of their respective careers. And while both artists have been keeping a relatively low profile on the music releases over the past 12 months, they are now gearing up for the spotlight with the promise of new albums from both parties. Presumably as part of her promotional activity, Iggy recently sat down with Elle Canada to chat about her 2015 in review, which included a lot of talk about her return to social media, as well as the impending release of her new album Digital Distortion.

And while she goes into great detail to clear up one of the biggest controversies she faced last year, in which she was “villainised” for apparently dismissing the Black Lives Matter movement, she also manages to slip in another plain hard fact—she still hates Azealia Banks.

“We don’t like each other on a personal level, and that has gone on for many years—before the Black Lives Matter incident happened. So when I dismissed her, people started to think that I dismissed the whole movement, but I wasn’t trying to dismiss Black Lives Matter—I was trying to dismiss her because it’s our personal shit… Even though I still hate Azealia Banks, I wish I had said it in a way that didn’t make people think I was oblivious to the movement.”

Of course, nothing gets past Azealia Banks and she took to Twitter once again, to share her opinion on the comments in a series of now-deleted tweets. With the release of her new single ‘The Big Big Beat’ recently, hopefully those ominous last tweets mean the rapper is about to drop some hard-hitting new tracks to counter with but only time will tell.
