Lil Wayne’s upcoming full-length had been gaining Detox-like momentum following his release from prison. After I Am Not a Human Being dropped while Weezy was still on the inside, word got around that Tha Carter‘s fifth installation was also recorded and simply in production limbo.

Well in true non-sequitur fashion, Weezy took to definitely-not-a-music-channel ESPN to announce the release date for Tha Carter V and show off his most recent baby pic photoshops.

The album is coming out October 28 and is the first Tha Carter album that doesn’t feature imagery focused solely on the Young Tune. “I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my mom on it this time.” explained Lil Wayne on ESPN. “This album means a lot to me. People been waiting on this album and I’m just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there.”

Two of the three singles already out from the album feature some pretty heavy contributions by Drake who is touring alongside Weezy in the Drake Vs Lil Wayne tour currently underway.
