We all remember the classic Dido/Eminem tune Stan (sampled from Dido’s Thank You), which combined Dido’s mournful hook with a rapper’s raw lyrics. Now Kendrick Lamar has teamed up with Dido on her new track Let Us Move On, no doubt partly in reference to the Dido/Eminem collab created 13 years prior.

It’s hard not to listen to this track and feel like breaking in to the Stan chorus, Dido’s voice takes you back to the Marshall Mathers LP days big time. That is until you get to the Lamar rhyme which is all his own – a powerful cameo which grows in expression until Lamar is almost growling his rap of love and loss.
