Roll out your mats ladies and gentlemen – you’ve got a new anthem for your Saturday morning workout. While perhaps a bit far removed from her work on 2010’s ArchAndroid concept album, the latest single from former Outkast affiliate Janelle Monae is a twerk-inducing jam that’s sure to command the club to demonstrate their best downward dog. The song is set to feature on her upcoming Eephus five track EP which will showcase Monae herself along with a variety of her Wondaland camp artists. While it’s been established that the Wondaland Art Society is for artists, by artists, the EP will be released in association with LA Reid and Epic Records.

Acting as the second single from the EP, it features a spacey trap beat and a break down that asserts that ladies let their “booties do that yoga”. The eternally-tuxed mistress also gets an assist from her Wondaland label signee Jidenna, a daringly dapper “classic man” that isn’t afraid to jump on a faux-DJ Mustard ratchet beat and tell everyone about his gentlemanliness. While the lyrics might seem out of place for Monae as she belts out the refrain “get off my areola” and demands that we flex, all is explained in the line “sometimes I’m peachy, and sometimes I’m vulgar” – gosh, aren’t we all?
