Earlier this year, we were treated to the first glimpse of the highly anticipated Straight Outta Compton biopic which is expected to hit screens this coming August. It is without question that the hype around the ‘world’s most notorious group’ is higher than it has been in years and to further fuel the fire, audio from a concert held by NWA in Anaheim during 98′ has now surfaced online.

The 30-minute long clip involves the whole crew including Dr. Dre and the late Easy-E roll through their catalogue of hits. As Ice Cube addresses the crowd around the 7-minute mark, he explain’s that his brothers need to “stop fucking up” and just “kick it”, as many sporting arenas weren’t allowing the group to perform because their music was seen as promoting gang violence. He then lead the crowd through ‘Fuck the Police’, who he blamed for shutting them out. This moment is referenced in the trailer for Straight Outta Compton, which infers the significance of this recorded concert at the time.

The recording further serves as an insight into the social state of America, which reaps similarities to the current situation in Baltimore and surrounding states. Feel free to get all nostalgic on us and relive the 98′ NWA concert in full through our gallery above.
