From his alien encounters to his strange rhymes and personality, Lupe Fiasco has given us more reason to pronounce his name more like “Loopy”, especially after his recent take to twitter (which has now been deleted). Yesterday morning, the rapper informed his followers that Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2 will be put on hold for an unspecified amount of time. Fiasco writes:

“Hello. A decision has been made that the project titled “F&L2 Part 2” will be summarily cancelled for public release in 2013. The title/concept for Lupe’s 2013 release will be revealed later this year. The LF twitter will be closed until that time”.

There are many possibilities as to why the album has gone on hiatus – label issues, early retirement, alien invasions, a loss of motivation and self respect after recording a duet with Guy Sebastian? At this point, further explanations have not been released.
